Make a scientific poster

Less text is more. Big font size, clear, simple. Consistent style is very important.

Abstract for poster

  1. Should put references if needed, usually very few
  2. Unlike paper abstracts, add some introduction.
  3. Poster abstracts are “advertising”, you want people to come to your poster in the first place. Once they are there, you can tell them all the details of what you did. First, they need to be interested in it, and applications/general intro is a way of getting their interest. Too general, vague or unspecific is better than too specific (then you also allow yourself some freedom in what to put on your poster). Same goes for results, better say that you have similar/comparable results than over claiming. For paper abstracts one can be more specific and precise – papers also contain more results/full story, where posters often are work in progress, unpublished, etc.
